Frequently asked question

How would I benefit from home care services?

Home care services are a great resource for the community because the general idea is to keep people out of long term nursing facilities. If you have problems even standing up, walking, tying your shoes, getting lightheaded, or feeling out of breath – home care services could be right for you. Having a diagnosed condition would also be a great reason to get home care. If someone was there with you – even for a few hours a day- it would help you get tasks completed instead of you trying to do it yourself and possibly falling or injuring yourself to end up in the hospital.

What if someone doesn’t speak English, do you have translators?

We have translators available who are able to communicate with anyone. They speak Arabic, Malayalam, Spanish, Tagalog, Hindi, and Russian to name a few.

What services do your aides provide?

The service plan covers a customized plan based on the client’s request. Some clients need full care while others just want someone to take them on walks. We offer assistance with bathing and dressing, assistance with ambulance and transfers and help preparing and service healthy diets. We also do kitchen maintenance, general cleaning, bathroom cleaning, shopping and errands. Most importantly we provide companionship and socialization.

Where are you located?

We are at 5924 N Broad Street, Philadelphia PA 19141. It is right near Einstein hospital, Central high school, and on the same block as the 35th police district.

I get so overwhelmed with the process – How can you help me get services?

We pride ourselves as advocates. If you reach out to our office (215)-621-7431 we will gather your information and answer any questions you may have. Our marketing team is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. You can fill out a representative form and Pristine can call the appropriate individuals to find out the status of your case. This is important because if you’re waiting to get approved and they’re simply searching for a letter to be faxed over – we can find that out for you instead of wasting precious time.

What are the qualifications to get into the home care program?

Monthly income must be less than $2200 a month. You must be a Pennsylvania resident and over 21 years old. You must also be enrolled into the Medicaid program.

Can I choose my own aide?

Yes you can choose a family member, friend, neighbor, associate, anyone you feel comfortable coming to assist you with the services you need. They will have to come to the office and fill out an application and we will hire them to service you. We also review possible employees with a criminal record on their background on a case by case basis. If that is who you want to be your aide then we can work with you. If you require another aide, Pristine will work with your preferences and send you an aide ourselves to help out at any time. We want you to be completely happy and trust who’s going to be in your home.

How do I transfer to your company?

It’s so simple. You have the right to transfer agencies if you’re not happy for any reason. Even if you believe your aide will be happier if you notice your current agency give them a hard time. Contact your service coordinator and give them our information. The coordinator will be in touch with us and we can decide when the best time for you to start with us is. If you have an aide, you need to make sure they know they have to come fill out an employment application and have all their documents in order for us to hire them. We will run a background check prior to their start date as well.

What are your rates?

We hear so much about other companies trying to offer the highest rates possible. We find out that those companies engage in unsavory business practices. Aides complain that they haven’t gotten paid. Aides are offered high rates but with no overtime. At Pristine home care, we offer the most competitive rates. If we know an aide is working Overtime hours, we make sure to adjust the rate accordingly so the aide can keep as much of their hours as possible.

What are some of the benefits?

We offer employees 401K after a year of working with us. We currently have dental and vision benefits available (dental is 20% covered and vision is 100% covered). Overtime rates are important because more and more companies are asking aides to take less hours. One thing we hear a lot is how peaceful our office is. The office staff is respectful and very responsive. We know our aides personally as opposed to some companies where you become just a faceless number when you call.

How is this company different than all the other home care agencies out here?

To be quite honest, most home care agencies are set up to make as much as money regardless of the quality of care provided or how employees are treated. At Pristine Home Care, the owners have such a strong healthcare background and healthcare leadership knowledge and it reflects in the policies and structure of the company. A licensed nursing home administrator with a PhD in Healthcare Administration (focusing on person-centered care) and an RN, BSN it is a business built on the foundation of care, kindness, but also thorough knowledge of policy, regulation and compliance. It is important in this day and age to know the principles an organization stands on.

What insurances do you accept?

We work with Community Health Choices (CHC). These health plans will coordinate your health care coverage in order to improve the quality of your health care experience. We accept PA Health & Wellness, Keystone First CHC (Amerihealth Southeast), and UPMC Community HealthChoices.

If you are scheduling a visit with Pristine, before you come to the office make sure you bring an active ID, a valid 2 step PPD (or chest X-ray) for tuberculosis testing, Social security card and bank information (if you would like direct deposit).

Do you guys pay on time?

We go to great lengths to ensure that employees get paid on time. We check and double check hours to make sure there are never issues. If there are issues, we make sure to fix the issue as soon as possible. Employees work hard for their money and want to make sure that is something that our staff never worry about.
